I found an old music casette tape.It was a tape of a famous song. The singer of the song is known as she had left her microphone on stage at the time of her retirement. The tape might have worn out from copying, the muffled sound was reproduced. When I listen to the muffled sound of music that I used to listen to only with clear sound, I feel like I'm listning to the original sound, even if it's a copy. No matter how clear the sound source, no matter how high the reproduction quality, I don't know the original sound. Still, just like this song reached me, I overwrote the music on the tape, thinking that it would be nice if it could reach hundreds of millions of years ahead.
In this work, recording and reproduction are repeated in real time. In the muffled sound coming from the worn tape, I felt more real than the neatly composed sounds. I think about the real sound in a loop where sounds are copied and original sounds are overwitten repeatedly.
